213th Anniversary of the Battle of St. George`s Cayeの紹介です。
時間には余裕を持って8時15分頃に到着しましたが、メモリアルパーク会場の壇上では、
司会者がクイーン オブ ザ ベイを紹介していました。
プログラムには、the Mayor of Belize City, Her Worship Zenaida Moya, the Leader
of the Opposition, Hon. John Briceño, the Ag Chief Justice, Justice Samuel Awich,
the Prime Minister of Belize, Hon. Dean Barrow, the Governor-General, H.E. Sir
Colville Young, Rev`d Illona Smiling of the Anglican Diocese of Belize, the Chairman
of the National Celebrations Commission-Hon. Manuel Heredia, Jr.お歴々の名前がありました。
9時から10時までの間に、儀式前の祈祷、the Belize Defence Force国歌吹奏、行進、閲兵、
Zenaida Moya Belize City市長の歓迎挨拶、Manuel Heredia, Jr. NCC会長(観光大臣)のスピーチ、
Faces of Belize表彰式、the Queen of the Bay就任式、National Song Competition入賞者の歌の
披露がありました。
会場で、ベリーズの小旗を持ったJICAベリーズ事務所調整員の竹前様と、近くにお住いの井上様に
会い、一緒に10時からのCitizens Paradeを見ました。
11時からはMCCグランドで、ベリーズ市役所主催のMulti-Cultural Fairが予定されていて出かけた
のですが、まだ準備中でした。1時から始まるかもと言われて待ったのですが、人は増えたものの、
始まる気配はありませんでした。
21時までと幅がありますので、来たのが早過ぎたようでした。無理はしないで、ここで引き上げました。
